Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Learning and Development Manager to lead their talent development initiatives. This role involves overseeing performance management, identifying training needs, and implementing learning strategies that align with organizational goals and sustainable agricultural practices. The ideal candidate will play a key role in fostering employee growth and driving innovation within the company.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the performance management system to ensure alignment with annual organizational strategies and goals.
- Guide managers in addressing underperformance through Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and coaching on performance-related matters.
- Implement recognition and incentive programs to reward and motivate outstanding performance.
- Conduct competence assessments to identify skill gaps and develop an annual learning and development calendar based on organization-wide needs assessments.
- Manage the training budget, oversee program execution, and evaluate training effectiveness through pre- and post-learning assessments.
- Develop and manage a succession planning strategy for critical roles to ensure organizational sustainability.
- Organize regular recognition events and administer incentives to foster employee engagement and motivation.
- Collect, analyze, and report data on organizational performance to inform decision-making and support quality improvements.
- Prepare business performance dashboards and analytics to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of performance management systems and recommend adjustments to enhance outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Business Administration, Agricultural
Sciences, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in business administration (HRM) or a related field is an advantage.
- Proficiency in both oral and written English and Swahili.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in People and Culture, preferably in the agricultural sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in training, facilitation, and mentoring.Determined personality with initiative, perseverance, and motivational skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented.
- Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with core agricultural practices and sustainability models is an advantage.
