Job Summary
Our
Client a Mining Company is looking for a qualified Financial Accountant who
will be responsible for gathering and monitoring financial data, preparing
accurate statements, forecasting costs and revenues, managing tax payments, and
conducting internal audits. They ensure compliance with accounting regulations
and support the company’s financial decisions.
Responsibilities.
- Prepare
and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income
statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct
monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis to track
performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Ensure
compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry
standards and internal policies.
- Manage
accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate
invoicing and payments.
- Perform
cost analysis and budgeting for mining operations, identifying financial trends
and variances.
- Collaborate
with operational teams to assess financial impacts of mining projects and
initiatives.
- Assist
in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing insights and
recommendations for cost-saving measures.
- Conduct
audits of financial records and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support
the finance team in the development and implementation of financial policies
and procedures.
- Participate
in external audits and liaise with auditors as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) an advantage
- Ideally have worked for a period of a minimum of 3 years within a
small or medium size accounting firm.
- Minimum of three years as a financial accountant.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP),
financial regulations and internal controls.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel
skills.
