Screening is a tool used to swift through candidates by using basic questions to make sure they meet the requirements needed for the job, For example special certificates, degrees and specific listed skills.
Beyond just making sure you meet the requirements for the job, the screening process helps you learn about candidates behavior outside of a professional setting. As an candidate you have time to prepare for an interview but not for a screening, which is mostly done via phone call which catches you off guard.
So what can you do to make sure you make a great first Impression?
Make a list of all the jobs that you have applied for and have it with you at all times. You never know when you will be called, so you need to make sure that you are always organized and focused. Recruitment firms have a lot of positions open, so if they have not mentioned what position they are screening you for, be sure to ask.
Always have your phone with you. Not everybody enjoys seeing a new number pop up on their phones, however if you are on a job hunt always be sure to pick up your phone and sound ready when you do.
