Job Description
Our client, a well-established company in the manufacturing and packaging industry, is seeking a proactive and experienced HR Manager to lead the human resources function at their facility in Tanzania. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Tanzanian labor laws, hands-on experience in manufacturing HR operations, and a proven ability to design and implement KRA/KPI frameworks specifically tailored for factory workers.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with Tanzanian labor laws, NSSF, WCF, OSHA, and other statutory requirements.
- Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, and HR documentation.
- Liaise with government authorities and legal advisors on labor-related matters.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for factory and staff roles.
- Conduct onboarding and induction programs to integrate new hires effectively.
- Design and implement KRA and KPI frameworks for factory and support staff.
- Lead the performance appraisal process and provide guidance to line managers.
- Identify performance gaps and recommend training or corrective actions.
- Address grievances, disciplinary issues, and conflict resolution in a fair and timely manner.
- Foster a positive work culture through engagement initiatives and open communication.
- Conduct training needs assessments and coordinate skill development programs.
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational training requirements.
- Coordinate with finance for accurate payroll processing.
- Manage leave, attendance, and employee benefits administration.
- Prepare monthly HR reports, headcount summaries, and attrition analysis.
- Use MS Excel for data analysis and MS Word for policy and report drafting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment in Tanzania.
- Strong knowledge of Tanzanian labor laws and statutory compliance.
- Proven experience in KRA/KPI development and performance assessment.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is mandatory.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
