Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Senior HR Officer to oversee HR operations in a mining environment, ensuring compliance with labor laws, supporting workforce planning, and implementing HR best practices. This role requires a deep understanding of the unique challenges of managing a remote and labor-intensive workforce while fostering a positive and productive work culture. The ideal candidate will be proactive in addressing HR issues, improving employee engagement, and ensuring smooth HR processes to support operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- HR Operations & Compliance
- Implement and enforce HR policies and procedures
tailored to the mining sector.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, safety regulations,
and company policies.
- Maintain accurate employee records, including
contracts, benefits, and disciplinary actions.
- Recruitment & Workforce Planning.
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment for both skilled and
unskilled mining staff.
- Support workforce planning to ensure optimal staffing
levels for mining operations.
- Conduct onboarding and induction programs for new
employees.
- Employee Relations & Industrial Relations.
- Handle employee grievances, disputes, and disciplinary
procedures in accordance with company policy.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with labor
unions and local authorities.
- Promote a positive workplace culture through employee
engagement initiatives.
- Performance Management & Training
- Support the implementation of performance appraisal
systems.
- Identify training needs and facilitate employee
development programs.
- Assist in career planning and succession planning
initiatives.
- Payroll & Compensation Support.
- Work closely with the payroll team to ensure timely and
accurate salary processing.
- Ensure compliance with industry wage structures and
benefits administration.
- Assist in bench marking salaries against industry
standards.
- Health, Safety & Welfare
- Support the implementation of occupational health and
safety policies.
- Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety &
Environment) regulations.
- Participate in wellness programs to improve employee
well-being.
