Job Summary:
Our client, a construction company, is looking for a warehouse/store manager who will be responsible for handling the central warehouse of our construction company. This position will involve the management of the supplies, tools and equipment that are necessary for our projects. The successful applicant will have previous experience in a similar role, and must be able to manage effectively and coordinate multiple projects within a busy, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual who can thrive when working independently or within a team. Fluency in French or experience working in Africa is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the central warehouse, including receiving and loading shipments, and overseeing inventory management
- Coordination of deliveries, transportation and logistics for multiple projects across the company
- Coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and our project management teams to ensure timely deliveries of supplies and equipment
- Maintaining accurate records of inventory and other supplies, and establishing a system of checks and balances to prevent theft, damage, and other losses
- Managing a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Implementing and managing an effective system for material handling, which minimizes the potential for accidents, injuries and damage to equipment
- Ensuring compliance with local regulations and policies, and implementing strategies to ensure that the company follows environmental best practices
- Keeping up to date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure that our warehouses maintain an industry leading position
- Coordinating with local suppliers and vendors to ensure a steady supply of materials, equipment and other necessary goods.
- Develop and implement a system for identifying and reporting damaged or missing goods, and ensure that all team members are trained in this process
- Investigate incidents of missing or damaged goods, determining the root cause and taking corrective action to prevent future occurrences
- Prepare and submit regular reports on inventory levels, loss prevention, and other operational metrics to senior management
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including client invoices, delivery receipts, and purchase orders
- Work with other teams within the business, including accounting and project management, to ensure that inventory levels are accurately accounted for and aligned with project budgets.
