Our client from the financial industry, with a strong presence in the microfinance sector, is seeking a seasoned and visionary Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead its Information Technology (IT) and Management Information Systems (MIS) functions. This strategic leadership role is essential in driving the organization’s digital transformation, enhancing operational efficiency, and delivering data-driven decision-making across all levels. The CIO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and will collaborate with stakeholders across Africa and Asia to leverage technology in achieving business growth and financial inclusion.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute an IT & MIS strategy aligned with organizational goals and long-term vision.
- Identify opportunities to apply innovative technologies to improve operational scalability and customer experience.
- Lead digital transformation and technology-driven change initiatives with strong program governance.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and management of secure, scalable, and reliable IT infrastructure.
- Ensure continuity of operations through robust systems, network security, and disaster recovery planning.
- Develop and enforce IT policies and best practices to support data privacy, integrity, and compliance.
- Drive enhancements in MIS platforms to ensure timely, accurate, and actionable insights for decision-makers.
- Collaborate with various departments to define reporting requirements and improve data accessibility.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and external consultants to ensure high-quality and cost-effective delivery.
- Lead contract negotiations, manage service level agreements, and oversee vendor performance compliance.
- Build and lead a skilled IT & MIS team capable of delivering strategic initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
