Our client, a leading company in the energy sector, is seeking a highly competent Senior Accountant to oversee financial planning, cost management, and reporting. The role involves driving budget development, monitoring inventory controls, ensuring compliance with audit standards, and providing strategic financial insights to optimize profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, advanced analytical skills, and experience in both auditing and the manufacturing or FMCG industries.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with department heads to develop a detailed annual budget and track the implementation of efficient financial metrics.
  
• Prepare monthly financial forecasts and actively participate in weekly product cost review meetings, providing insights for cost management and pricing decisions to enhance profitability.
  
• Prepare monthly landing cost reports for LPG and cylinders, offering insightful commentary on variances against budget.
  
• Review LPG and other raw material costs to guide the procurement process before orders are placed.
  
• Provide management with profitability insights before approving special pricing for customers in different locations.
  
• Support the sales team with financial insights to ensure clarity on the performance of each business unit, including retail, shops, and consumer segments.
  
• Oversee the implementation of inventory controls, including reconciliation and monitoring of the cycle count program.
  
• Act as a finance business partner to the operations department, providing insights on the performance of operational cost centers.
  
• Review the trial balance and complete month-end reconciliations and journal entries for financial closing.
  
• Actively participate in monthly performance review meetings with the Chief Accountant and other controllers.
  
• Provide support to auditors by addressing audit queries and ensuring the implementation of recommendations from internal and external audits.
  
• Develop training manuals for non-finance employees.
  
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Line Manager.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce.
  
• CPA (T), ACCA, ACA, or an equivalent professional qualification.
  
• Proficiency in accounting software, with SAP experience required.
  
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, including at least two (2) years in a Big 4 auditing firm and experience in the FMCG or manufacturing industry.
  
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
  
• Excellent time management skills.
  
• Highly focused, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  
• Self-driven and able to work independently.
  
• Trustworthy and committed to integrity in financial management.
