Job Summary:
Our client
is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of
Procurement Department to lead our procurement team in ensuring the timely and
cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services for our construction
projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and
implementing procurement strategies, managing vendor relationships, and
optimizing procurement processes to support the company's goals and objectives.
Responsibilities;
- Develop and implement procurement
strategies and policies in alignment with the company's overall objectives and
project requirements.
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the
procurement process, including sourcing, bidding, negotiation, and contract
management.
- Collaborate with project managers,
engineers, and other stakeholders to determine procurement needs,
specifications, and budgetary constraints.
- Identify and evaluate potential
suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers, and establish long-term
partnerships based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing
agreements with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the
company.
- Monitor supplier performance and
compliance with contractual obligations, and address any issues or
discrepancies as necessary.
- Develop and maintain a vendor database,
including supplier profiles, performance metrics, and risk assessments.
- Manage inventory levels and procurement
budgets to optimize cost savings and minimize waste.
- Stay informed about market trends,
industry regulations, and emerging technologies in procurement and supply chain
management.
- Lead, mentor, and develop procurement
team members, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain
management, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree or
professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) are a plus.
- Proven experience in procurement
leadership roles within the construction industry, with a track record of
successfully managing large-scale projects.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement
principles, practices, and regulations, with a strong understanding of
construction materials, equipment, and services.
- Excellent negotiation, communication,
and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective
relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving
abilities, with the capacity to analyze complex data and make strategic
procurement decisions.
- Proficiency in procurement software and
ERP systems, as well as Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities,
with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve departmental
goals and objectives.
- Sound judgment and decision-making
skills, with a focus on integrity, ethics, and compliance.
- Ability to work effectively under
pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing
business needs and requirements.
