Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Procurement Manager
to support our procurement department in acquiring materials, equipment, and
services necessary for our construction projects. The ideal candidate will
assist in developing procurement strategies, sourcing suppliers, negotiating
contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services while adhering to
budgetary constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and implementing
procurement strategies to meet project requirements and budgetary constraints.
- Source potential suppliers,
subcontractors, and service providers through research, inquiries, and
networking.
- Prepare and issue requests for proposals
(RFPs), requests for quotations (RFQs), and invitations to tender (ITTs) to
prospective vendors.
- Evaluate supplier proposals, bids, and
quotations to determine the most cost-effective and reliable options.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing
agreements with suppliers, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for the
company.
- Coordinate with project managers,
engineers, and other stakeholders to determine procurement needs,
specifications, and delivery schedules.
- Manage the procurement process from
order placement to delivery, ensuring on-time delivery of materials and
equipment to project sites.
- Monitor supplier performance and
compliance with contractual obligations, addressing any issues or discrepancies
as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement
activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and vendor correspondence.
- Assist in inventory management and
control, including monitoring stock levels, conducting periodic inventory
counts, and reconciling discrepancies.
