Job Summary:
Our client is in search of a Purchase Assistant to support all purchasing activities within their organization. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating procurement processes, assisting in sourcing suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate with vendors effectively and internal stakeholders. The Purchase Assistant will contribute to the smooth operation of the purchasing department and help maintain optimal inventory levels to meet business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Material Planning
- Find out the material requirements based on projected productions.
- Schedule the deliveries to avoid a stock-out situation.
- Maintain the stock norms of different items.
- Create POs in the system and communicate to the suppliers accordingly.
- Follow up with the suppliers for timely delivery of items.
- Maintain delivery of documents/information into the proper system.
- Raise alarm timely for any upcoming material shortage issues.
- Develop new suppliers.
- Negotiate with the suppliers for better pricing.
Requirements
- Graduate in Supply Chain or any related field.
- Should be comfortable in Verbal and Written Communication (English).
- Should have basic commercial knowledge of the purchase process and 2-4 years of work experience in Material Planning / Procurement.
- Working in any FMCG company will be an added advantage.
- Must have an understanding of international purchases and Incoterms.
- Must know about different packing material purchases.
