Job Summary:
Our Client, a Group of Companies, is looking for a qualified Finance Manager who will be responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and provide insights into financial performance.
- Build proper internal control and corporate governance by developing and implementing financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Work with section leaders to develop and monitor departmental budgets and provide financial guidance and analysis to support decision-making; and Manage the budgeting process and provide ongoing monitoring and analysis of actual versus budgeted results.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information to the Financial Controller and where required to the CEO and Management.
- Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, etc.
- Manage the auditing process and ensure compliance with all audit requirements, both internal and external financial audits.
- Manage the finance and accounting team, including hiring, training, and coaching staff to ensure a high level of performance and productivity.
- Maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
- Provide financial analysis and support for strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, new product launches, and capital investments.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual statutory returns (WHT, VAT, PAYE, SDL, WCF, NSSF, etc.).
- Ensure proper reconciliation of accounting ledgers and third parties where required.
