Our client, who is in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Junior NPD Engineer to join their engineering team. The NPD Engineer will be responsible for supporting the design, development, testing, and industrialization of new products from concept through production. This role involves hands-on engineering, prototyping, validation, and close collaboration with production, quality, procurement, and supply chain teams. The ideal candidate is a Mechanical Engineering graduate (or related discipline) with strong project exposure, a high learning appetite, excellent problem-solving skills, and a practical engineering mindset.
Support the design and development of new products, from concept generation to production release.
Prepare and modify engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation.
Assist in prototype fabrication, assembly, and functional testing.
Conduct product validation, performance testing, and data analysis to ensure design reliability and compliance.
Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and problem-solving sessions.
Support manufacturing process development, tooling trials, and pilot production runs.
Assist in material selection, BOM preparation, and cost optimization initiatives.
Work closely with production, quality, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth product industrialization.
Document engineering changes, test results, and development progress clearly and accurately.
Support continuous product improvement and process optimization activities.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing, production, quality, or engineering environment, or strong project-based experience through internships, academic projects, or personal engineering projects.
Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, CATIA, or similar.
Practical exposure to prototyping, testing, and hands-on engineering work.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
High learning agility with a curious, proactive, and growth-oriented mindset.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Well-organized, disciplined, and able to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and document work accurately.
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to engineering quality and continuous improvement.
The following will be considered a plus:
Exposure to product development projects, design competitions, or prototype builds.
Basic understanding of DFM / DFA principles, GD&T, and engineering documentation standards.
Experience working in factory, workshop, or production line environments.
Strong interest in product innovation and manufacturing excellence.
