Our client, a leading player in the FMCG industry, is seeking a Factory Manager to lead operations at one of their key production units. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and sustaining an environment conducive to innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement. The role requires strong strategic vision, operational oversight, and people leadership to ensure manufacturing excellence and alignment with the overall supply chain strategy.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a vision that supports the broader manufacturing strategy.
- Lead the execution of a 5-year facility and workplace improvement strategy.
- Drive improvements in product unit cost, working capital control, and material yield usage.
- Monitor production performance against master production schedules.
- Oversee labour and overhead recovery, and manage the departmental budget.
- Ensure legal compliance and implementation of occupational health and safety standards.
- Oversee quality control and non-conformance corrective actions.
- Lead workforce development and maintain a high-performance team environment.
- Maintain a healthy IR and ER climate, aiming for low turnover and absenteeism.
- Approve staffing levels and manage underperformance or reward excellence.
- Approve supplier selection and performance standards.
- Integrate suppliers into strategic processes and develop procurement strategies.
- Introduce process innovations and improvement initiatives.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks and ensure high plant availability.
- Approve and balance maintenance schedules with production demands.
- Oversee capital investment planning for equipment and facility maintenance.
